College Mentoring Program

The Center for Community Partnerships, in collaboration with the Department of Occupational Therapy and occupational therapy graduate students, provides 1:1 mentoring for CSU and Front Range Community College students with learning disabilities, brain injury, or disability-related challenges. The occupational therapy (OT)graduate student mentors provide support to referred students with disabilities, assisting them with study strategies, organizational skills, and connection to campus and community resources. While providing mentoring support, the occupational therapy students are also taking a seminar course where they are learning about the challenges that college students with disabilities encounter, and solutions and accommodations to address these challenges. The OT student mentors are able to make recommendations to their student mentees based on their coursework as well as their personal experience as successful college students.
