The New Start Program at CCP provides individualized support for children, youth and adults with brain injury. School-based services include the identification of adaptations and accommodations necessary to promote success for students with brain injury. Other fee-based school services include consultation and training for teachers and related service personnel on the manifestation of brain injury and its impact on student achievement. The New Start Program also provides supported employment services for youth and adults with brain injury, with participants receiving guidance as they find, get and keep jobs that match their strengths, abilities, interests and support needs. The focus of New Start support is to promote the highest level of independence for participants, putting in place natural supports for each individual at home, at school, in the community and in the workplace. The New Start Program does training and consultation for families, schools, businesses, professionals, the criminal justice system and Workforce Centers, all around brain injury and necessary supports for survivors as they strive to get a ‘new start’ on their lives following brain injury.
