Participants referred to CCP’s Transition Services Program have opportunities to participate in a variety of rewarding and exciting programs that promote independence, self-advocacy skill development and artistic exploration. These innovative programs are as follows:

  • JOBS Club: At JOBS Club, participants develop job search skills, fine-tune their resumes, and benefit from encouragement given by peers who are successfully employed or seeking that perfect job. The beauty of JOBS Club is that experienced participants can share the many tricks to successfully employment with less experienced individuals.
  • Self-Advocacy Skill Development: Participants who can benefit from individualized mentoring, support and encouragement have the opportunity to work closely with a CCP staff member on self-advocacy skill development. As they develop self-advocacy skills and practice these skills in the community, participants will ‘know themselves, know what they need, know how/where to get what they need,’ and will be empowered to put these new-found skills into action as they become independent in the community.
  • Art Program: CCP participants who are interested in artistic expression have the opportunity to sign up for the Art Program, where they will participate in an exciting art class taught by CSU art students. The cost for the Art Program is $50 – a great deal, in that this fee covers all supplies and individualized instruction for an 8 week course!

Participants who are interested in any of the above Life Skills programs through Transition Services will be given opportunities to get involved upon referral to CCP, or upon request after referral.
